How To Dry Apple & Orange Slices

How to dry apple & orange slices

Recently I was asked if I could bring a charcuterie board to my nieces Thanksgiving dinner. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity. I love making charcuterie plates for myself, so I knew I would love making a charcuterie board for the dinner. And of course I wanted to dazzle it up, so I decided to dry some apple & orange slices to give it a fall vibe. The process is super simple, and I figured I would share it with all of you.

I did this with apple and orange slices, but you could also do other fruits such as lemons, lime, pears or grapefruit for example. The amount of drying time in the oven may differ depending on the fruit but it is basically the same process. So let’s go ahead and get into the process.

Start by preheating your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. While your oven is warming up, slice your fruit into 1/4″ thick slices.

Next, place your apple & orange slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. And place in oven to start drying out. Flip fruit every hr.

Apples & oranges should be completely dry between 6-8 hours depending on the thickness of your fruit and oven.

Dried apple & orange slices are perfect for garland, as home decor, potpourri, or as a garnish.
