My First Charcuterie Board

I finally got a reason to make my first charcuterie board. I have been making my own charcuterie plates for a while now. They are my fav go to quick lunch/snack. There is just something about being able to snack and graze on so many different delicious items. And the fact that you can create a super healthy charcuterie plate is a bonus.

My go to items for my charcuterie lunch plate are pepperoni, cheddar cheese or cream cheese, veggie chips, grapes, and olives or pickles. I have really been broadening my horizons on olives. I just recently tried olives stuffed with lemon and orange peel. They are so freaking good. The citrus zest just adds another dimension to the olives. Any who, back to my first ever charcuterie board.

My nieces hosted Thanksgiving this yr and asked if I could bring a charcuterie board and obviously it was a resounding yes for me. I had been waiting for a reason to create a whole board and not just a plate. With all my excitement came an overload of options and wants to include in my board. I had 4 different olives, dill pickles, and 7 different cheeses. Yes, seven different cheeses. Two of them were flavored with dill. lol We love pickles to dang much, but that’s another story. I also had 5 different deli meats. I don’t know if you can go overboard with a charcuterie board, but I probably got close.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I was running late to the party, there would have definitely been a lot more on that board. I had already dried apple and orange slices to add to it to give it a more fall vibe and I had wanted to add a variety of nuts to the board. Man-o-man, it would have been the charcuterie boards of all charcuterie boards. But they say everything happens for a reason, so maybe it wouldn’t have been.

Either way I am so excited to make my next one. I have many parties I am throwing this coming yr. A couple of them are my daughters bridal shower and my daughter in laws baby shower. And you know I already plan on making charcuterie boards for them.

LET ME KNOW!

Do you think I went overboard? Were 7 cheeses to many cheeses? What’s your fav items to have on a charcuterie board?
