Upcycle An Old Doormat For Halloween
Over here we love a good upcycle! How about you? Today we decided to upcycle an old doormat for Halloween!
I saved this old doormat from last fall. I wasnβt quite sure whyβ¦. sometimes Iβm a hoarderβ¦. lol! But I am so glad I did. Not only does upcycling keep money in my pocket but it helps prevent more items going into our landfills. Which I am all for.

- Old Doormat
- Cut Out βBOOβ Letters
- Black Spray Paint
- Double Sided Tape
This was a super simple upcycle transformation. I got the BOO Stencil from and old Halloween decoration that didnβt work anymore, like I said upcycling is my jam! But you can quickly take a piece of cardboard and create your own. Just draw out the letters and cut them out.
You can pick up the black spray paint at any home improvement store, from Walmart or even have them shipped to your home from Amazon. I went with a black flat spray paint. With that said you will want to make sure you do this project in a well ventilated area.
With a little maneuvering, place the letters over a clean spot where there is no dΓ©cor already painted on the doormat. You can just lay them on the doormat and hope they donβt move. Or just take some double sided tape and tape them down, which is what I did. Better safe than sorry! ; )
Now just spray paint the entire rug. I told you this was a simple upcycle transformation. Once the entire rug is spray painted and allowed to completely dry, remove the letters and you have a brand-new Halloween doormat!
